No More Wisdom

A week ago today I got my wisdom teeth pulled. Uncle Jimmy was kind enough to do the service for me. Lucky for me I only had 3 wisdom teeth and 2 of them had already broken the surface of my gums. The whole process only took about an hour and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Jim numbed me up real good and he also gave me laughing gas to help me relax. This was the first time I'd ever had laughing gas and it was definitely an interesting experience. I now understand why it's called laughing gas...I couldn't stop giggling. And for some reason I couldn't feel my feet the whole time I was on it--that made me giggle even more.

Well, the surgery was a success and I no longer have my wisdom teeth. I healed pretty quickly, probably because I've become immune to getting teeth pulled since I only lost approximately 4 of my baby teeth on my own and the rest were pulled by the dentist. (Us Wayne Hart children are pretty handicapped when it comes to losing teeth.) hahahaha

I hardly even swelled...I was hoping the swelling would be a little more dramatic so I could post some sweet pictures on the blog, but this was the best I could come up with. You can kinda tell the right side of my face is swollen (that's where the partially impacted tooth was).

This is my mug shot.
For the first couple of days after the surgery I could only eat soft foods. I got pretty sick of eating soup, and by Monday I was famished. But don't you fret, I am now back to my regular eating habits of cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Look Who's Back!!

My long awaited return is finally here after a 3 month absence. I know that you all have missed hearing from me so now I will update you all on my life starting back in October.

We had the sweetest Halloween costumes ever in the world.
Then November came and I studied all day everyday.

Luckily December brought a lot of memorable events starting with a sweater party.

Next, I cut a record with my group called The Noels. It's the best Christmas cd you'll ever hear. This is the cover of our album. (I'm the one in the middle)

After I finished recording my Christmas album (you can purchase your own copy for $5.99), I took finals and officially finished my first semester of the accounting program.

Now I am currently enjoying my Christmas vacation, and up to this point it has been exceptional. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas with Waynkle, Elainkle, Tim, Tanya, and Marisa. We had a great time. Marisa has recenlty learned how to lounge from her Grandpa Wayne.

Then I took a quick trip to Texas for my good friend Desiree's wedding. We are so glamorous.

Once I got home from Texas, Elaine and Haylie left for Chicago to go visit Carin and Trent and the girls. So I decided it would be an excellent idea to stay with Kari and Matt in the O.C. for the week. Well, nobody told me that Kari started her very own boot camp--she woke me up at 6:30 every morning to run 4 miles, and on Thursday we ran almost 6 miles. Basically, the next time you all see me and Kari we will be ripped out of our minds.

That's pretty much my life up-to-date. I guess we will have to wait and see what January has in store. 2008 should be great!

Happy Birthday to Tim, Cade, and Brynn!!!

Movin' my way up on the TOTEM pole

So I was talking to Kari on the phone today and we were discussing who was the favorite and reasons why we are not the favorite, and I got to thinking....I am definitely moving my way up on the list, and here's why:

Dad likes me because
1. I am majoring in accounting
2. I haven't crashed a car in over two years
3. My one and only guess for PHD was "perfect husband and dad"

Mom likes me because
1. I don't live at home anymore, so she doesn't have to worry about me ditching school and requesting that she lie for me to cover it up
2. I've grown out of the "toilet papering Cortlin Roper" stage (or have I??)
3. She's gotten over the fact that I dye my hair
Although I am still not the golden child, I'm just sayin....Tim you better watch out. hahahaha

I do have to say that I am the only one who gets to take pictures of just myself and one of the parentals:

I know you are all jealous.

And real quickly, I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mom! You are the best mom in the world. I love you and miss you so much. I hope you have a great day!!!

Trent, Carin, Janna, and Stone Happy Birthday to all of you too!!!

School, school, and more schoooooool

I've been in school for almost three weeks now, and let me tell you, it feels like an eternity. I'm really enjoying the accounting program, but it is a LOT of work. My classes are everyday from 12:30-3:20 and I study in the library from the time I get out of class until eight or nine pm, come home, eat some food, play a little guitar hero, do some more homework, go to bed, wake up in the morning around eight and finish the rest of my homework, then go to class and it starts all over again. Hahahaha sounds really fun, right??? Tim knows what I'm talking about. Some days there isn't as much homework as others but I'm usually pretty busy.

There are definitely some great perks to being in the program though. For example, there is always some kind of event going on with free dinner or free lunch and we get to go to fun events and listen to great lectures. Two Fridays ago we got to do the "Pit Crew Challenge". A race car team from Canada goes around the country giving motivational lectures to different corporate companies and to a few selected Universities, BYU being one of them. So we got to break up into teams and take turns changing the tires of a real race car as fast as we could. I was the chief executive for my team, which basically meant that I didn't get to do anything awesome, I just made sure everything was going according to plan (I even had a clipboard to make me look official). It was a pretty fun experience.

Here are some pictures of the Pit Crew Challenge--I'm the one in the jumpsuit. I looked like a baller hahahaha

This was my team. The guy standing next to me was on my co-ed soccer team last winter. He's the bomb.

This past Tuesday President Hinckley spoke for the weekly devotional at BYU. Of course it was amazing, as always, to hear him speak in person. My favorite part is the incredible spirit you feel as he walks into the Marriot Center, there is no way to deny he is a Prophet of the Lord. He spoke on the Thirteenth Article of Faith, emphasizing the first line of being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men. It was great!!! I feel so blessed to be able to attend BYU.

Also, Friday night I went to the homecoming spectacular which is a huge performance of all the great performing groups at BYU. For the whole second half of the show the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performed along with the Orchestra at Temple Square. It was awesome. I saw Brody on the big screen a few times, and Heidi watched him through her binoculars hahahaha.
Those are a few of the big events that have been going on for me lately. I'll be sure to post more pictures next time. I love you all!!

BLOG POLICE

Alright everyone, I know I haven't blogged in a reeeeeeeeeally long time and I just got busted by the blog police aka Luke Lee so here it goes.

Well, I am officially back in Cougar Town and it's been pretty hectic since I've been back. Lisa drove up with me and we got to Provo Wednesday evening. The drive went by really quick, probably because we listened to the High School Musical 2 soundtrack practically the whole way up. I guess Troy Bolton is just really inspiring or something. It was great. Then I had to move in and unpack and of course I've got to get back in the social scene since I won't have much of a social life once school starts. Heidi and I have done some fun things this week. We went swimming in the Provo River with some of her friends from home and we went wake boarding on Utah Lake and we went to the girls' volleyball game and of course the football game yesterday. It's been fun, but I feel like I've been going non stop since I got here.

Oh and church was fun today, our ward seems like it is going to be a lot of fun. It starts at 9 am which is pretty unfortunate when you're a college student, but at least I'll be able to take my Sunday naps again. Oh and Luke's brother Danny is in my ward so that will be fun. But here is the weirdest thing that happened at church today. So the guy that is giving the Sunday School lesson today starts telling this story about his family and he starts talking about his triplet uncles and how his grandfather was in the military and how President Hinckley came to his grandfather's funeral and the whole time he's telling this story I'm thinking to myself that this sounds all too familiar. So after the lesson Lisa and I ask him if he has any Rozsa's in his family and his face lit up and he said, "Yeah, that's my mom's maiden name." Then we told him that his uncle Doug was our bishop back home and sooo Jordan Rozsa's cousin is in my ward. Pretty funny stuff. It's such a small world within the church.

Anyways, I'm pretty anxious to start my classes because I'm not really sure what to expect. All I know is that there will be a lot of boys in my classes, so that should be pretty interesting. I'm taking 3 accounting classes in a block from 12:30-3:30 everyday. Other than that I'm taking a religion class on Thursday nights and I have a soccer class on Monday and Wednesday at 9 am. It should be a pretty fun semester. I'll be sure to let you all know how my first day goes. Oh and I'll post some pictures of my apartment once we're all moved in and it's not such a huge mess.
It's great to be back up at school, but I already miss everyone at home. I haven't posted any pictures from Sarah and Drew's wedding so enjoy. It was a great day!

A Victim of Poor Parenting

Although I do not have any children of my own to provide poor parenting to, I definitely have had some poor parenting performed on me recently. Mom and Dad may say otherwise, buuuuuut I would like to give everyone else the opportunity to decide for themselves.
You know you are getting "poor-parented" (yes that's a verb) when you are 20 years old and you come home from school at BYU and you get moded from your job that you thought was set in stone and then your parents get out the whip and make you do excrutiating manual labor even after you find out that you got into the accounting program.
Manual labor job number 1:

I got tricked into doing this project. Mom made it sound like it was going to be really fun because I would get to pick the color of the paint and redecorate the bathroom and make it look really good.

Well, nobody mentioned the part about wallpaper being the worst thing in the world to take off. I spent three days with that lame steamer in a sweltering bathroom....painful. And that was only the beginning.

It turns out that painting a bathroom all by myself with no help...isn't as fun as I thought it would be. Today I came home from working with Dad all day and then painted the bathroom until 11 o'clock at night. Oh, and the job isn't done yet. I still have to finish painting the ceiling white. All I know is that it's not going to look too wonderful because I'm not Michaelangelo.

Now if you don't think that is poor parenting then take this into consideration.

Manual labor job number 2:

Taking this...

And turning it into this...

Keep in mind that all of these files don't get up and walk themselves across the street from Public Storage into Dad's office. I have to load up all the files into my car and then carry them up to Dad's office on a dollie in some more sweltering heat. Then I sit at the shredder for 8 hours a day and shred and shred until my poor little fingers can't shred anymore. This week alone I've shredded over 70 trash bags full of little shreds. Oh and not to mention, my back KILLS from lifting boxes of files and then sitting upright at the shredder all day long. Oh and painting the ceiling in the bathroom isn't helping the cause either. If I didn't already get back problems from Grandma Fitz then I'll probably get a few back problems from this Summer.

My life is rough, I know.

Mom won't even let me take a break from painting to go visit my sister Kari for a day, and Dad won't give a break from shredding to go to my nephew Weston's birthday party.

This is how I feel at the end of the day...

Now you can all be the jury and make the judgment call of whether I am a victim of poor parenting or not.
